Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kristen Kochamba is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY30345) who provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults. She specializes in OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Her approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative, drawing from CBT and evidence-based treatments including ERP, ACT, DBT, and Mindful Self-Compassion. She works with clients to better understand their patterns, navigate difficult thoughts and feelings, and develop practical tools that help them feel more confident and less controlled by their emotions.

Dr. Kochamba earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, where she received the Outstanding Dissertation Award for her research on mindfulness-based treatments. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and her postdoctoral fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and CBT California. She also served as a Staff Therapist at The Camden Center, a leading dual-diagnosis treatment center in Los Angeles, where she provided comprehensive DBT and evidence-based treatment to adults with complex emotional and psychological concerns. She is certified in CBT by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Southern California Chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.

In addition to her clinical work, she provides consultation and training to therapists on evidence-based approaches to OCD and anxiety, with a particular interest in mindfulness and compassion-focused treatment. Dr. Kochamba believes therapy should feel like a place where you can be honest, understood, and fully yourself. She helps clients step out of cycles of overthinking, avoidance, and self-doubt, face what feels difficult, and make meaningful changes in their everyday lives. Her goal is to help clients feel more grounded, capable, and free to focus on the people and experiences that matter most.

In Her Own Words

“I feel so lucky to do this work. I love getting to know my clients and creating a space where they can feel understood, accepted and comfortable fully being themselves.

I see therapy as a collaboration. I want to understand who you are, what you’re going through, and what matters most to you. My style is warm and compassionate while also being active and direct when it’s helpful.
I especially love helping people who feel stuck in cycles of OCD, anxiety, perfectionism or self-doubt. Together, we work on relating differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, building self-trust and confidence, and making more room for the things that bring meaning and purpose to your life.

My hope is that therapy helps you feel more like yourself and gives you the freedom to live the life you want.”
