Dr. Katie Rozzell-Voss is a licensed clinical psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. She provides individual therapy for adults and specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, and anxiety disorders using evidence-based treatment approaches. Dr. Rozzell-Voss has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and also commonly utilizes third-wave treatment approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition to her patient-facing work, Dr. Rozzell-Voss has developed a body of research and actively studies risk factors and treatment approaches for disordered eating, body image concerns, and internalized weight stigma.
Prior to joining CPC, Dr. Rozzell-Voss completed her postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she continues to practice as a psychologist in the Eating Disorders Clinic and Student Athlete Mental Health Clinic. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of California, San Diego Eating Disorder Center and Rady Children’s Hospital. Throughout her training, she has worked across a range of treatment settings, including outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and in primary care mental health integration. She is deeply committed to providing care that is evidence-based while also being individually tailored to the patient.
Dr. Rozzell-Voss strives to create a therapy environment that is both warm and pragmatic. She understands that therapy is most effective when clients feel uniquely recognized for who they are, while also encouraged to make changes that practically and meaningfully impact their life.
In Her Own Words
“A phrase that has resonated with me and that I aim to exemplify in my therapeutic practice is “flexibility within fidelity”. What this means in the therapy room: Evidence-based treatment does not need to be rigid and impersonal! I believe care should be tailored to you – your unique history, identity, culture, personality, and values system.
I bring a collaborative and goal-oriented approach to therapy, always at your pace and comfortability. I believe that good therapy does more than build insight into thoughts, behaviors, and emotions; it should also equip you with skills to make lasting changes that align with your personal values.
As a provider who is also passionate about clinical psychology research- I see therapy as your own personal science experiment: making observations about patterns in your life, forming hypotheses about what helps you grow and what keeps you stuck, and experimenting through trial and error with new behaviors, skills, and ways of thinking.
I hope to provide you a space that feels accepting, thoughtful, and empowering. It is a privilege to join you on your path forward!”
